Volunteer Call for 'Trevor' House Teams

Posted: Wednesday, April 19, 2017, 4:45am

Trevor opens its run Friday May 5 at the 5691 Harlem Road playhouse, and the call is sounding for volunteers to be house managers, ushers, parking lot attendants, and concession clerks for eight performances continuing through Sunday May 21.

Curtain Players presents Trevor at 8 PM Fridays-Saturdays May 5-6, 12-13 and 19-20 and at 2 PM Sundays May 14 and 21. A Curtain Panels audience talk back follows the Sunday May 14 performance. Curtain Players is conducting a food drive to benefit Westerville Area Resource Ministry through the run of Trevor.

NOTE: The theatre company advises potential volunteers that this production is recommended for audiences ages 13 and older because of adult language.

Questions about the volunteer program and may sign up for Trevor house staff positions by e-mailing volunteer coordinator Lindsay Brooks at volunteer@curtainplayers.org

House staff must be 18 years of age or over, with the exception of ushers, who may be as young as 16 years of age.

The house staff jobs are important ones, as these volunteers have the responsibility to be hosts to patrons and to be caretakers of the theatre at performances from before the house opens, during the performance and intermission, and until the theatre closes for the night. Volunteers should note that recent productions at the playhouse have been near or completely sold out.

Curtain Players provides job descriptions to volunteers ahead of time. Curtain Players also encourages those who have worked in these positions to return and to be guides for new volunteers, thereby building the theatre’s network of experienced volunteers. As a thank you, Curtain Players invites members of its house staff to stay for the performance without charge.
