'Alice' Cast in Rehearsal for June Run

The Curtain Players Alice cast is in rehearsal, preparing for a June 15 opening in Westerville's Alum Creek Park North amphitheater.

Curtain Players is co-producing Ara Vito's Alice: A Variation on Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland with the City of Westerville’s Parks and Recreation Department. Six free outdoor Alice performances are scheduled for 8 PM Thursdays-Saturdays June 15-17 and 22-24.

Director Sonda Staley leads the actors: Mackenzie Biemer (Ensemble/Flower); Taylor Leigh Davis (Doormouse/understudy Alice); Francois Dean (Hatter/Ensemble); Hannah Elhard (Caterpillar/Ensemble); Jesse Evans-Jenkins (Peacock/Ensemble); Tristan Rose Gillia (Queen); Erin Haught (Ensemble/Flower); Kate Hawthorne (Mother); Sharon Kibe (Cat/Dance Captain); Sydney LaLuzerne (Ensemble/Flower); Clara Livingston (Alice); Sam Price (Twin/Ensemble); Randy Benge (Dad/Hare); Hanna Osterwyk (Time/Ensemble); and Travis Daniel Williams (Lewis Carroll).

Staley is assisted by Johanna Breiding, who also serves as set designer. Michael Day is stage manager. Keely Kurtas-Chapman and Doug Browell are Alice producers. Jill Taylor serves as artistic advisor for the production.

Alice: A Variation on Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland is a new take on Carroll's classic tales crafting a story of a young girl named Alice Pleasance Liddell and the relationship she develops with Charles Dodgson (alias Lewis Carroll). Overcoming her parents' stifling indifference, Alice discovers her creativity through adventures on the other side of the looking glass, conquering her fears as she approaches a vision of her true self.
