Curtain Panels Again Part of Players Season

Theatre has potential to spark conversation, so Curtain Players again gives patrons the opportunity the share their thoughts with each other with its Curtain Panels audience talk back program during the 2017-2018 year, Season 55 for the community theatre company.

Curtain Panels conversations follow the first Sunday matinee of each production. The first talk back of the new season is Sunday September 17 following that day’s performance of Wendy Darling by Ira Hauptman.

Curtain Players presents the first fully staged production of Hauptman’s unpublished script. Hauptman, who resides in New York, will lead the Wendy Darling Curtain Panels event.

Hauptman too will be guest of honor at a public reception and deliver a pre-performance talk ahead of the Saturday evening show September 16.

Curtain Panels is among the theatre’s education initiatives, designed to encourage greater engagement in the art of theatre. Following one performance in each Curtain Players production’s run, the director, actors, and available designers and technicians gather on stage for a question-and-answer session with the audience. This is an opportunity for informal conversation about such topics as a play’s subject matter, challenges of staging the production, a director’s choices and vision, technical and behind-the-scenes design work, and how actors prepare for their roles.

All tickets for the 2017-18 season are on sale, including season subscriptions, flex passes, and individual tickets to all six of the company’s ticketed productions.
