Curtain Committed to Website, Social Media

As electronic communications have become the norm, Curtain Players is working to provide even more timely and user-friendly information through popular marketing and communication channels.

Curtain Players volunteers, patrons, and donors are encouraged to regularly visit www.curtainplayers.org along with the community theatre company’s Facebook page, Twitter feed, and Instagram album for latest news and announcements about the organization, auditions and productions, special events, and opportunities to become involved. All are encouraged too to participate in the social media platforms, sharing their own positive messages among the networks regarding Curtain Players, its events, and personal experiences.

Stephen Moore and Kirsten Peninger are administrators on the community theatre organization’s Facebook account. Peninger also handles the theatre’s Instagram account, established earlier this year.

Curtain Players president James F. Petsche is the website content editor, Twitter account administrator, and writer/editor of the This Week at Curtain Players e-mail messages. Michael Day remains webmaster.

New this season, Curtain Players board member Jeremy Sony chairs a website review committee charged with evaluating the current site that was built and developed by Sony and Stefan Langer when Sony was theatre president a decade ago. Not much has changed with the website since then, and the new panel first is making short-term changes to this primary source the theatre’s news and information. The committee too is studying industry trends and usage patterns with an eye on potential wholesale changes to the site to refresh the presentation and to make it more user-friendly and easily accessible on mobile devices.
