Curtain Players on January 11 and 13 welcomes Actors' Theatre of Columbus to present a special readers theatre event featuring a pair of works by American playwright Edward Albee.

Curtain time is 8 o'clock each night at the 5691 Harlem Road playhouse (Galena OH 43021).

Tickets to Simply Staged: Albee Fest are available in advance online. Patrons may purchase reserved seats at a pay-what-you-want price be clicking here.

Tickets will be sold at the door, also at a pay-what-you-want price.

Simply Staged: Albee Fest has each theatre company presenting for audiences a staged reading of a full-length Albee play each night: Seascape from Actors' Theatre on Thursday January 11; and A Delicate Balance from Curtain Players on Saturday January 13.

Jeremy Sony is producing the event. Booth Muller is technical director. Philip Hickman and Kate Tull direct the readings for Actors' Theatre and Curtain Players, respectively.

Simply Staged in recent years has featured new works by central Ohio playwrights. This year the Curtain Players annual event is designed to be an opportunity to celebrate the playwright's spirit by reading works from Albee's library. Albee (1928-2016) won three Pulitzer Prizes for Drama and two Best Play Tony Awards during his storied career. Curtain Players in the fall presented Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and this Simply Staged event is designed as a follow-up to that, in a Curtain Players season with focus on playwrights.
