Special Schedule for 'Exit the King'
Posted: Monday, April 9, 2018, 2:51pm
The Curtain Players production of Exit the King is running on a special performance schedule to accommodate the Mother's Day holiday on Sunday May 13.
There will be eight performances over three weekends, per the customary Curtain Players calendar, but the usual second Sunday matinee has been moved to the first weekend to allow the Exit the King production team and our patrons to celebrate the annual Mother's Day observance.
Curtain Players presents Exit the King at 8 PM May 4-5, 11-12, and 18-19, with 2 o’clock matinees Sundays May 6 and 20. There is no performance Sunday May 13. Tickets are on sale now. Click here to order.
The approximate 90-minute production is staged without intermission as playwright Eugene Ionesco intended. The production is recommended for audiences ages 13 and older.
A Curtain Panels audience talk back session is scheduled for after the Sunday May 6 matinee.
In Ionesco's most accessible Absurdist drama, it's King Berenger's dying day and also the last day of the universe. Everything is falling apart – from his own palace to the very physics of the solar system. Will his commands to restore order be enough? Or will we fade into the mist?
