'Exit' Audience Talk Back May 6

Posted: Monday, April 23, 2018, 8:22am

Curtain Players continues its Curtain Panels audience talk back program following the 2 PM Sunday May 6 performance of Exit the King. The cast and available creative/technical team members will meet with the audience following the show to discuss the script and the production.

Tickets for Exit the King are available on this website. Tickets are $17 for adults, $15 for senior citizens and students. Click here.

Curtain Players presents Exit The King at 8 PM May 4-5, 11-12, and 18-19, with 2 o’clock matinees Sundays May 6 and 20. There is no performance on Mother's Day, May 13.

In Eugene Ionesco's most accessible Absurdist drama, it's King Berenger's dying day and also the last day of the universe. Everything is falling apart – from his own palace to the very physics of the solar system. Will his commands to restore order be enough? Or will we fade into the mist?

The production is presented without intermission, as the playwright intended. The staging is recommended for audiences ages 13 and older.

Following one performance in each Curtain Players production’s run — usually the first Sunday matinee — the director, actors, and available designers and technicians gather on stage for a question-and-answer session with the audience. This is an opportunity for an informal conversation about such topics as a play’s subject matter, the challenge of staging the production, a director’s choices and vision, technical and behind-the-scenes design work, and how actors prepare for their roles.

Formally established in 2010, Curtain Panels is one of ongoing initiatives Curtain Players has developed to increase audience appreciation of and engagement in the organization and its productions, and more broadly, with theatre arts no matter the stage.
