Curtain's Spring Save-the-Dates

Curtain Players issues save-the-date calls on several events and occasions as the community theatre company this spring transitions from Season 55 to Season 56. (Updated May 22)
MAY 26-27: Curtain Players Technical Director Booth Muller has announced a set build schedule for the community theatre’s June production of Charlotte’s Web. The weekend Web set build begins at noon Saturday May 26. A second day of work is planned for noon to 5 PM Sunday May 27. The work days take place at the 5691 Harlem Road playhouse. Charlotte's Web performances are set for June 14-16 and 21-23 in the Westerville Alum Creek Park amphitheater. Click here for more details.
MAY 31: Curtain Players patrons are invited to attend an open rehearsal of an excerpt from Wendy Darling at 7:30 PM Thursday May 31 at the Harlem Road playhouse. This is a free event with no reservations or ticketing required. Wendy Darling is representing Curtain Players at the Ohio Community Theatre Association Central Region Festival Saturday June 2 at Kenyon College in Gambier. The open rehearsal is an opportunity for the Curtain Players community to cheer its home team before the big event. Click here for more details.
JUNE 2: Curtain Players takes its Wendy Darling excerpt on the road to Kenyon College in Gambier for the daylong Ohio Community Theatre Association Central Region Festival. JUNE 7: Meet director Michael Fusco and learn about plans for On Golden Pond. The Ernest Thompson play is the first production in the Curtain Players 2018-19 season. The script info session begins at 6:30 PM Thursday June 7 at the Harlem Road playhouse. Curtain Players offers a script review session for each of its productions, an opportunity for actors to become acquainted with the community theatre organization, to review the script, to discuss the play with the director, and to ask questions about the audition process, rehearsal period, and production plans. Those interested in working behind the scenes are also invited to attend.
JUNE 14-16 & 21-23: Curtain Players and the City of Westerville Parks & Recreation Department for a third year team to present free outdoor theatre in the Alum Creek Park North amphitheater. This year’s offering is Charlotte’s Web, an adaptation of the enduringly popular E.B. White book by Joseph Robinette. Show time is 7:30 each evening. Donations welcome. Keely Kurtas-Chapman directs.
JUNE 17: Curtain Players conducts its first audition of the 2018-19 season, for its opener On Golden Pond by Ernest Thompson. Registration begins at 6:30 PM with actual auditions to begin promptly at 7 o’clock at the Harlem Road playhouse. Click here for all of Season 56’s script info session and audition dates.
JUNE 24: Curtain Players will celebrate the highlights and successes of its 2017-2018 season — number 55 for the community theatre company — on Sunday June 24. Following the successful format of recent years, this year’s happening is set for 6-8:30 PM that date at The Old Bag of Nails in Uptown Westerville. The party features appetizers and a cash bar. JUNE 30: Beginning at 9 AM Curtain Players volunteers gather at the Harlem Road playhouse for the annual work day. Technical Director Booth Muller is leading the daylong event.
