Curtain Players has announced a special schedule for its production of the comedy Epic Proportions in May 2019 to accommodate the Mother’s Day holiday.

There will be eight performances over three weekends, per the customary Curtain Players calendar, but the usual second Sunday matinee has been moved from May 12 to May 5 to allow the Epic Proportions production team and theatre patrons to celebrate the annual Mother’s Day observance.

Curtain Players presents Epic Proportions at 8 PM May 3-4, 10-11, and 17-18, with 2 o’clock matinees Sundays May 5 and 19. There is a pay-what-you-want preview performance Thursday May 2. Season subscriptions, flex passes, and individual show tickets for all performances go on sale online August 1.

A Curtain Panels audience talk back session is scheduled for after the Sunday May 5 matinee.

Set in the 1930s, Epic Proportions tells the story of two brothers, Phil and Benny, who go to the Arizona desert to be extras in the huge Hollywood Biblical epic Exeunt Omnes. Before you know it, Phil is directing the movie, and Benny is starring in it. To complicate matters further, they both fall in love with the same woman, not to mention the staged gladiator battles, the Ten Plagues, and a cast of thousands.

Jeremy Sony directs the production.
