Casey Merkey is taking over directing responsibilities for Curtain Players' upcoming production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Sarah Merkey, originally slated to direct, informed the Curtain Players Board that due to unforeseen circumstances she would be unable to continue with the show in a director's capacity.
Casey has been involved with Curtain Players since 2011, and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2017. He has been involved with numerous productions in Central Ohio, both on stage and off, with The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time marking his directorial debut. His goal in directing this production is to showcase the richly faceted, flawed-yet-wonderful characters that the playwright has developed in this script.
Sarah, a veteran Curtain Players director, will stay on as part of the show's casting committee, which includes Kirsten Peninger, Carolyn Jakubczak, Wendy Brinker, Mario Salvador, and Jackie Herrera.
Auditions for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time will continue as scheduled on Sunday, November 18. Check-in begins at 6:30 p.m.; auditions will begin at 7 p.m. For more information about character roles, auditions, and working with Curtain Players, visit our auditions page.
