Curtain Players has named its cast for the final show of Season 56, Epic Proportions by Larry Coen and David Crane, following auditions on Feb. 10. Directed by Jeremy Sony, the play opens the first weekend in May at the Harlem Road playhouse.
The cast: Colin Luther (as Benny Bennet); Rachel Luther (as Louise Goldman); Greg Kissner (as Phil Bennet); Nathan Bashaw (as Jack et al); Kyle Smith (as Shel et al); Emma Kinnison (as The Queen et al); Christopher Seitz (as Octavium et al); and Randy Benge (as D.W. DeWitt).
Set in the 1930s, this comedy tells the story of two brothers who go to the Arizona desert to be extras in the huge Hollywood Biblical epic "Exeunt Omnes". Before you know it, one is directing the movie, the other is starring in it , and to complicate matters further they both fall in love with the same woman — not to mention the gladiator battles, the Ten Plagues and a cast of thousands.
Epic Proportions runs May 3-4, 10-11, and 17-18 at 8 p.m.; and May 5 & 19 at 2 p.m. Please note that due to Mother's Day, our first Sunday matinee and post-show discussion is scheduled for opening weekend (May 5). There will also be a pay-what-you-can preview performance on May 2.
