Posted: Tuesday, July 2, 2019, 10:09am

This October, Curtain Players presents the Ohio premiere of Sleepy Hollow: The Lost Chapter, a reimagining of Washington Irving's beloved classic, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," revealing a previously untold piece of the legend in this full-length stage play.

We invite anyone interested in participating in the show to a Production Kickoff info night at Curtain Players at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, to learn more.

In addition to penning the script, Sony will direct and will be on-hand at the July 21 event to answer questions about the show, rehearsals, characters, the script, his directing style, and more. He'll also have audition sides if you want a sneak peek on what to prep for auditions!

Auditions will be held the following Sunday, July 28, from 7 – 9 p.m at Curtain Players. Sign-in begins at 6:30 p.m. Auditions will be cold-readings from the script.

Sleepy Hollow: The Lost Chapter will be casting for at least 15 actors. We need 6 women (20s – 60s+), 3 men (20s – 60s+), and six youth actors (4 young women and 2 young men to play middle/high school age).

Some adult actors will play multiple roles. For a complete character breakdown, doubling, and age ranges, please visit the Sleepy Hollow: The Lost Chapter Audition Info page.

Rehearsals will begin the week of August 18 (actors participating in 16-3-3 for the Harlem Township Days festival will not any conflicts for this production).

Performance dates are Oct. 17 (preview), 18, 19, 25, 26, Nov. 1, & 2, 2019 at 8 p.m., and Oct. 20, 27, & Nov. 3, 2019 at 2 p.m.

More about the story:

Ichabod has disappeared and his students are determined to find out the truth of what happened; but a new schoolteacher has come to town — Abigail Seymour — who is more focused on teaching than chasing ghosts, until she has her own run-in with the Headless Horseman. Now, Abigail and her students must hurry to retrace Ichabod's final days in Sleepy Hollow and find a way to stop the Horseman once and for all, lest she meet the same fate. Along the way, they cross paths with Katrina Van Tassel, Brom Bones, and all of Irving's original characters, uncovering secrets and revelations about that fateful night in Sleepy Hollow.

There will be a script available at the Westerville Public Library by mid-July. It is also currently available on Amazon.com.

If you have questions about the script, casting, or rehearsal plans, etc., and can't make it to the production kickoff, you can email jeremy@jeremysony.com.
