Curtain Players Presents: A Dramatic Reading of Original 'Sleepy Hollow' at Westerville Library, Oct. 4

Posted: Saturday, September 14, 2019, 10:35am

Join members of the cast and creative team of our upcoming production of Sleepy Hollow: The Lost Chapter at the Westerville Public Library for a (condensed) dramatic reading of Washington Irving's original tale, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow."

The reading will take place Friday, Oct. 4, 2019 at 5 p.m. at 126 S. State Street, Westerville, Ohio in the libary's Meeting Room A.

Irving's classic tale "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" was first published in 1820 in a collection of 34 essays and short stories entitled "The Sketch Book of Geoffrey Crayon, Gent," telling the story of schoolteacher Ichabod Crane, his quest to marry Katrina Van Tassel, his rivalry with Abraham "Brom Bones" Van Brunt, and his famous meeting with the Headless Horseman.

Curtain Players is excited to present Irving's memorable tale ahead of its October production of Jeremy Sony's adaptation which picks up in the final pages of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," revealing a previously untold piece of the legend.

The reading at the Westerville Public Library on Oct. 4 is free and open to the public, suitable for kids and adults of all ages. See the library's event calendar for details.

Sleepy Hollow: The Lost Chapter by Jeremy Sony runs Oct. 18 – Nov. 3 at Curtain Players. Tickets are on sale now. For more info about this original play, visit curtainplayers.org.
