Curtain Players Receives 11 Nominations for Theatre Roundtable Awards

Central Ohio’s Theatre Roundtable will celebrate excellence in local theater on Feb. 16, 2020 during its 20th annual awards ceremony, honoring recipients from area productions that took place in 2019.

Four Curtain Players’ productions received a total of eleven nominations in the Community/Academic Awards group, announced on Jan. 19 during a Facebook Live event on the Theatre Roundtable Facebook page.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Epic Proportions, Sleepy Hollow: The Lost Chapter, and The Mousetrap all received nominations, including two for outstanding production, spanning categories from ensemble and individual acting to creative and technical.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time received a nomination for Outstanding Production of a Play, and acting nods for Jonah Pearson, Jaimie Schwartz, and Rachel Wiltshire, each nominated for Excellence in Acting in a Leading Role in a Play. The entire cast also picked up a nomination for Excellence in Ensemble Acting in a Play. John Maassel received a nomination for Excellence in Sound Design.

Epic Proportions received a nomination for Outstanding Production of a Play, and Rachel Luther received a nomination for Excellence in Acting in a Leading Role in a Play.

The Mousetrap's Diane Hooper was nominated for Excellence in Acting in a Featured Role in a Play, and Kurt Mueller received a nomination for Excellence in Sound Design for his work on the production.

Eric Ewing received a nomination for Excellence in Sound Design for his work on Sleepy Hollow: The Lost Chapter.

Congratulations to all of our nominees; we are proud of each of our productions, and we’re honored that several of them have been recognized by Theatre Roundtable.

The Theatre Roundtable Awards will be held on Sunday, Feb. 16 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Northland Performing Arts Center (NPAC), 4411 Tamarak Blvd., Columbus, OH.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for attendees to enjoy pre-awards hors d'oeuvres from Dempsey's, and a cash bar. The awards show begins at 7 p.m.
