Do you know a volunteer at Curtain Players who goes above and beyond? Now is the time to submit your nominations for our two top awards that honor individuals who have made significant contributions and demonstrated extraordinary commitment and dedication to our theater!
Email email@example.com with your nominations. Details on the awards and submission process below.
The Volunteer of the Year Award, presented annually, recognizes an individual who has gone “above and beyond the call of duty” for the community theatre company in the current season. The Curtain Players Board of Directors will select the recipient from nominations received by deadline.
The Richard D. Near Award, established and bestowed in memory of a longtime Curtain Players volunteer, is presented to an individual demonstrating “continued dedication to the advancement of Curtain Players.” Near was an officer, board member, actor, director, and advocate who was instrumental in first developing the armory for local stage productions and then in the purchase and development of the Harlem Road playhouse more than 30 years ago. The Near Award is not necessarily presented every year, rather only when the board of directors receives a nomination of someone deemed worthy of the honor.
Please submit names for consideration along with reasons they are deserving of an award to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please keep written nominations to 250 words or less.
The deadline is April 30. Nominations may also be mailed to PO Box 1143, Westerville OH 43086, and must be received in the post office box no later than April 25 for consideration.
The board will review all submissions and make its decisions at its May meeting. Recipients will be announced during the Curtain Players season-end event.
Recipients receive plaques of their own and their names are added to plaques displayed in the playhouse lobby.
