"... Beauty Queen ..." Wins Awards at OCTAFest

On Sunday June 1, The Beauty Queen of Leenane presented an excerpt at the annual festival of the Central Region of the Ohio Community Theatre Association (OCTA). The panel of 3 responders awarded the cast and crew with the following awards:

• Ryan Heitkamp – Merit in Intimacy Coaching
• John Quigley – Merit in Props
• Wendy Brinker – Merit in Stage Management
• Sarah Merkey – Merit in Direction
• Patrick Goldman – Merit in Acting
• Angela Dean – Excellence in Dialect Coaching
• Kathy Hyland – Excellence in Acting
• Sonda Staley – Excellence in Acting
• Casey Merkey – Excellence in Acting
• The Cast – Excellence in Ensemble

In addition, Beauty Queen was named the alternate excerpt to present at OCTA’s annual State Conference, happening over Labor Day weekend. We will learn in July if they receive an official invitation to present there.
