Advertising executive Daniel Corban is frantic, and understandably so. His new wife, Elizabeth, has gone missing from a remote mountain lodge in the Catskills during their honeymoon. Police inspector Levine is called in to investigate this disappearance, believing a simple lovers' quarrel spurred Mrs. Corban to leave on her own accord. Soon the local priest, Father Kelleher, arrives with great news that Elizabeth has been found. When the bride returns to the cabin, however, Daniel emphatically claims that the woman is not his wife, while she strongly insists that she is. Who (if anybody) is telling the truth? Inspector Levine tries to follow the clues through the ensuing mayhem, twists, and turns. Can he determine fact from fiction, decipher the building paranoia, and finally solve this baffling case before someone gets hurt?
